1978 5月 ◇愛知県名古屋市生まれ born in Nagoya
6歳よりピアノを習い始める。
両親が能を習っていたため、幼少時より両親の謡に声を合わせていた。
小中学生時代には仕舞を習い、能「花筐」の子方もつとめた。
Began learning piano at the age of six.
As both parents studied Noh theatre, sawako would sing along to their chanting from early childhood.
During her primary and secondary school years, she studied shimai (Noh dance) and performed the role of the child in the Noh play “Hanagatami”.

高校時代は軽音部に所属。

4月 ◇上京、慶応大学環境情報学部入学 moved to Tokyo, university admission
メディアアート系のゼミを希望するも、
お目当ての教授が他校に移ってしまったため電子音楽のゼミに。
プログラミング初心者なりに変な音をつくって楽しむ。

artport（名古屋港ガーデンふ頭20号倉庫の実験活用、1999－2003）の一環として桑山清晴が主催。
sawakoは、大学3年の時（2000）から出演。
この年には、sampler／MD／mixer feedbackというセッティングで18分間の演奏を行った。
